KALKI

Hindi Poetry

--

The Funeral.

कविता

--

WORD IS THE WORLD.

P O E T R Y

--

There Is The Void,

The Great Endless and,

The Beginningless Vast,

Where There Is,

Neither The World,

Nor The Word,

And The Attention Only,

Reins Supreme.

Neither Lonely, Nor Alone,

For It Knows Nothing,

Apart From Itself.

But Then In An awkward Moment,

Appears The Twin,

The Word And The World,

Entwined Together,

So Close, So Distant,

From One-Another,

Like A Twin-star In The Dark Sky.

And One Tends To Believe,

The Two Are But One And The Same.

As The One Appears,

The Another is List Of Sight,

And One Just Forgets,

The Two Are But One!

Just Like You,

I Too Have Heard,

In The Beginning,

There Was But God (Alone?),

I Just Wander,

If God (Alone?) Was There,

Wasn't There The Other,

The So-called Past!,

Beside The God?

So I Think,

There Is Nver,

Either A Past,

Or A Future,

That Was Or Will Be Ever!

And The God Utters A Word,

In His Extreme Utter Solitude,

And The Word Appears,

And At Once Becomes The World.

And Though,

The Word Replicates Itself,

In Infinitely, A Myriad Forms,

It's None Other Indeed,

The God (Alone?).

Replicating Himself

Time And Again,

Moment To Moment.

The Moment, The Word,

And The World Too,

Appear And Disappear,

And The God Too Apoears

And Disappears With Them!

It's The One-Man Show,

That Appears To Go on,

Endless And Beginningless.

Agony and disillusionment.

Agony and disillusionment.
--

Cold can't touch you,
if you are but cold,
Just as an ornament,
can't touch gold,
Just as the fire,
that can't harm itself,
though can no doubt,
burn this whole world,
When you know,
The self as Shiva only,
When you know,
Shiva as the only Self,
You are not a bye-stander,
You are then only,
But Shiva as the Self.

The Mark Indelible.

The Mark Indelible.
==
Don't ever grieve,  Even in your death,
If you have known, Once your Lord,
And have but once, Put His Mark,
On your fore-head, and have accepted,
Him as your shelter, The Savior Ultimate,
In your life, In full surrender,
In full understanding, In full awareness,
For this mark will protect you,
From those servants  of death,
Let them not, touch your soul.
Let them not, claim you as their lot,
They would rush away from you, Scared,
As soon as they look at your face,
As soon as they see that Mark,
And remember the tormentor of Death,
While The envoys of the Lord,
Would arrive before them.
Don't grieve in life and in death,
If you have even but once,
Put this mark of Vishnu or Shiva,
Of Kali, Durga, or Ganesha,
In your life, In full surrender,
In full understanding, In full awareness,
For this mark will protect you,
And escort you, Take you to their abode.
And you shall live in utter peace and bliss,
Beside your Lord, with Him as His own beloved.
When the time comes at your door,
Though in the eyes of the world
May be you die in utter helplessness,
The Lord remembers you,
If you have known, Once your Lord,
And have but once, Put His Mark,
On your fore-head, and have accepted,
Him as your shelter, The Savior Ultimate,
In your life, In full surrender,
In full understanding, In full awareness,
The mark would not you let slip,
From the grip, from the hold of it fist,
Having a mark on your fore-head,
Is such a wisdom, given by the Lord.
One a fortunate is showered upon,
By the Lord Himself, this Grace,
The one only, who has handed over,
One-self, in those might hands of the Lord.

Exactly an year ago!

Exactly an year ago!
--
I AM the The door, I AM the way,
I AM the one, from myself away.
Calling I AM to myself that is lost,
I AM The one, That comes to myself.

The Spirit of Gaia.

The Spirit of Gaia.
--
[gauḥ gāvau gāvaḥ, a cow / bull, 2 cows / bulls,
many cows / bulls,  गो > go > also means nature, earth, life]
gauh gavau gavah,
cram I,
go the (बीजाक्षर > bījākṣara>
(root-syllable) is invoked,
involuntarily.
my guru had warned me about this,
had said to be cautious,
lest the spirit of go,
that roams about everywhere,
may overwhelm you,
possess you,
capture and obsess you.
And lo!
guru's warning came true.
one hot suffocating day,
the spirit of gaia,
dominated me,
like a succubus,
that squeezed me,
and at the same time,
suckled me too.
but not in the love,
of the physical kind,
but of the ecstatic one,
where associated with her,
I but was she,
the mother principle,
the earth,
for go / गो  means earth,
the priyaa,
the preyasee,
[प्रेयसी > preyasī, beloved -feminine]
the prairy,
the fairy,
the haakinee,
[हाकिनी > haakinee. hākinī,]
that beckons,
the Daakinee,
Daakinee,  ḍākinī, ]
that consumes,
gorges the spirit,
[ग्रस् > grass, graze, gorge,]
in the spirit.
the shaakinee,
[शाकिनी > shaakinee, śākinī, śākhinī,]
the twig,
Dhakini, ḍhākinī, ]
the kalaa,
[कला > kalā,]
that kills, culls.
the shalk,
the leaf,
that removes, drives away obstacles and troubles]
the chalk,
[शल्क / śalka, शल् / śal > that cuts, pierces, penetrates,
arrow, knife, blade, bark-skin, barb, वल्कल, / valkala > cover, tiger-skin,
कलम > kalama > pen, कलीय > kalīya > कलई > kalaī > to polish,]
that shines,
that cuts,
that writes,
the ऋत् / ṛt
that is क्लीम् > klīm
(root-syllable of devī / gaia)
the 'clime', 'clemency', cloud, ...
and when she had revealed to me,
her form and nature indescribable,
she was nowhere to be seen.
had left me,
Forlorn, in oblivion
[ अव-लीयवन्त > ob-livion,]
