The Life on Mars

A few billion years ago, there were many seas upon the Mars. The land was rich, fertile, and prosperous.The climates were benign and the people there could have plenty of crops that they grew in the fields. The woods were dense abundent in flora and fauna. The economy in monetary terms was not yet a place there. People just didn't knownor believed in a thing which we call 'future'. Though they sometimes used the future tense in their conversation and that was just as a helpful convention to facilitate the dialogue. They knew well that this 'future' is never a thing that could be really handled as a physical object or manipulated in any way. Like-wise they saw the 'past' also as another similar convention only which they felt somehow help them to avoid possible errors because of not knowing the essential cause-less prime cause that they supposed lies behind all that happens.
varuṇa / वरुण , -The cosmic Lord of waters in the seas, the power divine, and soma 'Soma' - The cosmic Lord of 'rasa' - रस / necter divine, often propitiated by Lord bṛhaspati बृहस्पति Who was the preciding priest in carrying out the ceremonial worship offered to Lord sūrya सूर्य Sun, Lord agni / अग्नि Fire, Lord Yama / यम, Lord varuṇa / वरुण, and Lord soma / 'Soma', also to Lord vāyu / वायु Air, sūrya सूर्य Sun was also called पूषन् / pūṣan, while joined with Lord इन्द्र / indra He was called मित्र / mitra as well. Lord Indra provided material-help for performing यज्ञ / yajña ceremonial worship. वाग्देवी / vāgdevī सरस्वती / sarasvatī the In-charge authority of मन्त्र / mantra gave the strength to those incantations, which all these Lords could follow and accept and reciprocate too. Everything was quite fine when this our pṛthvī / पृथ्वी Earth was enclosed in hot Fire-like meditation / austerity (tapas), to propitiate Lord ब्रह्मा / brahmā so that a similar 'Life' as on the Mars was at that time,may spring-up and flourish upon Her bosom. Mars was happy, but somehow grew jealous of the Earth for reasons known to himself. Those Lords, the heavenly Powers that run, maintain and look after 'Life' and 'Death' in all its forms, didn't like this behaviour of Mars and as if to teach him a lesson, stopped responding to the prayers and offerings made to them by those people residing upon the Mars.
ब्रह्मा / brahmā was till now pleased over the hard penance of the Earth and sent all these Lords upon pṛthvī / पृथ्वी Earth so that 'Life' could play its role, grow and Earth may be rich and prosper. pṛthvī / पृथ्वी Earth then, for a few million years went into a deep sleep like trans and was relieved of all Her tedious tiredness. Became fresh, full of verve and energy, vigor and joy, woke up from that trans.
Lords descended on Earth, human beings were given the teachings of how to propitiate the Lords and how they would in turn give you all riches, bounties and happiness.
Meanwhile, the people living on Mars became skeptic of these Lords, of their existence and lost all faith and trust in them. They started quarreling with one-another. They destroyed the temples and the idols of those Lords and were following some self-proclaimed religious guides who taught them to treat them as the only 'True Messenger'. They inflicted wars upon mankind and then followed famines and droughts, the waters in the rivers and seas dried up or seeped into the underground at inaccessible depths.
The people discovered and developed material science and had acquired astonishing powers but that couldn't remove their misery and troubles. They had marvelous feet of technology and 'knowledge' but had no love for themselves or anybody / anything else. Many committed suicide, others went mad, indulging in fierce wars that destroyed the whatever remnants of 'Life' were left so far.
